Appendix B Farm Identity Preservation and Traceability Program and Its Components

Identity preservation and traceability (IPT) systems do not begin with testing of the end product. Rather, IPT is a system of standards, records, and auditing that must be in place throughout the entire crop production, harvesting, handling, and marketing process. Figure B.1 represents identity preservation (IP) processes and factors to consider at various steps, including testing and auditing points.
