ABSTRACT
In conclusion, this article discusses the reinforcing subjective effects ofMDMA perceived as a performance-enhancing drug by the general abusers along with the deleterious adverse effects. The previously described adverse effects of MDMA should prompt us for systematic effective measures at different sectors including researchers, medical personnel and law enforcement groups. In this regard, we should plan for a better monitoring system on epidemiology of the abuse and death associated with MDMA use. Future research including genomics and proteomics should be implemented to describe better the clinical manifestation and mechanisms involved in MDMA abuse. Finally, the vital role of health education and other professional disciplines should be highly stressed to raise awareness and prevention against the risks of various abused drugs.
