ABSTRACT
Installing VMware GSX Server on either a Windows or Linux server should be no more complicated than installing many other types of applications on either operating system. Th is chapter will cover the requirements of the product as well as information on the installation and basic confi guration of the physical host server and the host operating system. It will then walk through a step-by-step installation of GSX Server. Because the Windows and Linux platforms are so signifi cantly diff erent in their installation process, the chapter will be divided into two sections: the fi rst section will cover GSX Server for Windows followed by information on GSX Server for Linux.
