ABSTRACT

A data warehouse is built to address the strategic needs of an organization. Organizations allocate considerable resources to data warehouse projects, but there has been very little discussion on how to achieve a strategic alignment between the data warehouse and the business needs, to ensure its success. Discussion on managerial or strategic issues of data warehousing have been rare. Although the need for commitment and support from top management has been identified as a critical factor, no specific guidelines have been proposed on how to attain this.
