ABSTRACT
Oracle security is managed through the concept of a database user. To connect to the database you must have a valid Oracle user account. Th e permissions you have within the database are based on the privileges that are assigned to the user through which you are connected to Oracle. Account security is therefore one of the fundamental building blocks in ensuring a secure Oracle environment.
