ABSTRACT
I. Introduction This chapter discusses experimental approaches to the development of improved therapies for Pneumocystis pneumonia (PcP) based on interference with Pneumocystis polyamine and iron metabolism. For both approaches there are drugs currently approved for other indications that exploit these approaches and are highly active in animal models of PcP.
