ABSTRACT
Ungual topical drug delivery serves as an attractive alternative to conventional (oral) therapy to avoid problems such as —rst-pass metabolism, gastrointestinal (GI) side effects, and poor patient compliance. As a result, the pharmaceutical chemistry community is investing increasing resources toward the development of technology enabling the barrier nature of the nail to be overcome.
