Arcing during opening and closure. During arcing there is a net loss of carbon as a result of several parallel processes taking place, dissociation of the organic material, sublimation and or oxidation of carbon particles, and formation and deposition of carbon particles. Contacts in closed position. Assumes no change and no reactions.
