ABSTRACT
The Capability Maturity Model (CMM) is a model not a methodology. Many mistake it for a methodology which tells you how to accomplish something but the CMM is a model which only tells you what needs to be accomplished. It is only a framework and does not tell an organization how to implement processes, hence it can work well in many system development environments, including the growingly popular Agile Methodologies.
