ABSTRACT

From the point of view of pharmaceutical systems, it is rare that a suspension is the first dosage form thought of. For this reason, the limitations mentioned earlier, regarding the small amounts of drug substance available, often are not severe problems when it comes to formulating suspensions, because this type of formulation occurs later in the development of novel products. Preformulation is necessary, but many of the micromethods necessary in ordinary preformulation are not as pertinent here.
