ABSTRACT
Traditional data modeling techniques capture the structure of data but not the procedures and practices for using data. Business rules, which describe these procedures and practices, are buried within a schema and application software and are not available to most enterprise employees. Employees need to review these rules to learn how the business operates, and to review and modify the business rules to make the business more efficient.
