ABSTRACT
The latest trend in the use of technology has spawned a new breed of companies called application service providers. An application service provider (ASP) provides a contractual software-based service for hosting, managing, and providing access to an application from a centrally managed facility. Customer companies have remote Web access to applications that are live on the ASP-provided servers.
