ABSTRACT

Hill AFB is located in northern Utah, approximately 25 miles north of Salt Lake City and about 5 miles south of Ogden (Figure 3.1). The base covers approximately 6700 acres in Davis and Weber Counties, with the majority of the base located within Davis County. The base is situated just west of the Wasatch Mountains, on a plateau approximately 300 ft above the valley floor. Surface elevations at Hill AFB range from about 4600 ft above mean sea level (amsl) along the western boundary of the base to over 5000 ft amsl near the eastern boundary. Operable Unit 2 (OU2) is located on the northeastern boundary of Hill AFB along Perimeter Road on a bench situated about one third the distance down the hillslope of the western valley wall of the Weber Valley.
