ABSTRACT
This chapter gathers some of the results of topology of metric spaces. The topics reviewed in the chapter are: product topology, continuous decompositions, homotopy, fundamental group, geometric complexes, polyhedra, complete metric spaces, compacta, continua and hyperspaces. The chapter introduces the fundamental group of a metric space. It shows that the fundamental group of the unit circle is isomorphic to the group of integers.
