ABSTRACT

Lignin is an amorphous polymer crosslinked with covalent and hydrogen bonds. There are many papers on molecular mass and molecular mass distributions of lignins [1-12]. X-ray diffractograms of lignins indicate that the molecular association of the amorphous chains has a broad distribution compared to synthetic polymers such as polystyrene and quenched polyethyleneterephtalate [13]. The solid-state molecular motion of isolated lignins, such as milled wood lignin (MWL), dioxane lignin (DL), alcoholysis lignin (AL), kraft lignin (KL), blends of these lignins and chemically modied lignins, have been investigated using various experimental techniques.
