ABSTRACT

This chapter provides guidelines and examples of the conversion of application data and describes what should be measured when we transfer existing business application data to a new or enhanced application’s Internal Logical Files (ILFs). The conversion process executes against existing data in a separate application to populate one or more logical files in the application being sized in order to fulfill specific user requirements for that application data. The conversion process could require additional data elements to be populated in the process. Conversion considers the source data, the logical files being populated, and the process used for conversion.
