ABSTRACT
When establishing a security guard force, the security professional must first make a determination with regard to the size of the security guard force that will be required. The need for a security guard force must be established and will be based on several factors. These factors include a physical security survey of the facility to be protected by the security guard force, the duties and functions of the security guard force at the facility, size and mission of the facility, hours of operation, number of employees and visitors, security threat to the facility, and the budget.
