ABSTRACT

The anthracycline antibiotic doxorubicin (Adriamycin~B) is one of the most widely used antitumor agents. It is effective against, but not confined to, carcinoma of the breast, bronchogenic carcinoma (especially the smallcell variety), carcinoma of the ovary, soft-tissue sarcoma, acute leukemia, the malignant lymphomas, including Hodgkin's disease, and several childhood malignancies.
