ABSTRACT
UNIX branched out into many fl avors such as AT&T UNIX, Solaris (from Sun Microsystems), HP-UX (from Hewlett-Packard), Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD) UNIX (Berkeley UNIX), Xenix (from SCO), TOPIX (Fault-Tolerant UNIX From Sequoia), ULTRIX (from Digital Equipment Corporation [DEC]), and MULTICS. UNIX can be considered as the parent of many modern OSs.
