ABSTRACT
The identify quadrant of the update management function involves a number of tasks related to receiving and authenticating update information, determining the technology stream, and establishing the group or groups that will be responsible for handling the remainder of the identify tasks (Figure 11.1). These include determining the current or future applicability of the update to the computing environment, the creation of release notes, and the downloading, validation, and testing of the update.
