ABSTRACT
Change and configuration management (CM) are tightly integrated processes. CM relies on change management to ensure updates and changes to system configurations do not adversely impact business operations and productivity. Change management depends on the accuracy of configuration data to properly evaluate these potential impacts. The previous chapter on evaluation and planning emphasized the importance of this relationship. This chapter provides an in-depth look at change management processes and the information and activities required to make them effective.
