ABSTRACT
The control phase of configuration management (CM) is the phase where CM implements the required operations to gain control of the entire process (Figure 6.1). The control phase is where the change management team uses the control framework to maintain control of information technology (IT) configurations. The control phase benefits all IT operations. Without control the CM process is just a nice idea and all of the work and CM infrastructure are reduced to nice ideas that only a few people use.
