ABSTRACT
This chapter is intended to provide the reader with a basic understanding about the functions available in a network management system (NMS). At the end of this chapter you will have a good understanding of the categories under which network functions can be grouped in the eTOM (enhanced telecom operations map) model. This would include a discussion of the categories and how it maps to actual functions in the NMS.
