ABSTRACT
Many projects can make use of package software to satisfy part or all of a functional requirement. In making this decision, the purchase cost of the package must be weighed against the development costs estimated as part of the planning step. The decision is further complicated when more than one software package is evaluated. This chapter provides a recommended evaluation procedure.
