ABSTRACT
The free-drug (f) AUC:MIC ratio is the PK-PD measure that generally has correlated most strongly with efficacy in animal and in vitro infection models and in patients with a variety of infection types (4-9). The fCmax:MIC ratio is also important, especially relating to the suppression of drug-resistant subpopulations of bacteria (10,11).
