ABSTRACT
As the biopharmaceutical industry evolves and matures, so do the materials and
designs of filter housings and peripheral equipment that serve the industry. Since the
inception of the biopharmaceutical industry in the 1970s, the dominant paradigm for
filtration has been to use disposable filters in reusable stainless steel filter housings.
