ABSTRACT

As has been noted previously, techniques for system development continue to evolve, with each iteration bringing IT closer to its goal of providing customers with defect-free systems in the time frame that they need them. Although RAD helps reduce the time required for system development and encourages more active customer participation in the life cycle, developing the system is still a linear process, and as such it has some of the shortcomings of the traditional waterfall methodology. The most important of these is the need for customers to fully define and communicate their requirements at the beginning of the process.
