ABSTRACT
The American legal system supports the ancient legal doctrine of attorney-client privilege, which establishes that conversations and materials sent between the attorney and the client are confidential. The attorney-client privilege allows the client to discuss legal concerns candidly with his attorney and receive sound and accurate legal advice, knowing that the court cannot force the attorney to disclose any information or documents.
