ABSTRACT

Digital fingerprinting [1-4] is a technology used to trace illegal distributors, which embeds users’ identification information imperceptibly into media content. The user information, such as an ID code, is embedded into the media content by watermarking techniques [5, 6]. If the customer redistributes his media copy to other unauthorized customers, e.g., by putting it on the Internet, the ID code can be extracted from the media content and identify illegal distributors.
