ABSTRACT
A developer faces a challenging task when porting applications from a traditional RTOS such as VxWorks, pSoS, Nucleus, and so on, to embedded Linux. The difficulty arises because of the entirely different programming model of Linux as compared to other RTOSs. This chapter discusses a roadmap for porting applications from a traditional RTOS to embedded Linux. It also discusses various techniques that are generally employed to facilitate porting.
