Platyhel minthes. The genus comprises a single species D. caninum.

D. caninum (also known as dog tapeworm, cat tapeworm, cucumber tapeworm, or double-pore tapeworm) is a parasite of dogs, and sometimes cats and humans. The role of D. caninum in human illness has been known since the beginning days of the Linnaean classi‘cation system in the 1750s.
