ABSTRACT
SO [3, identi‘ed by Rudophi in 1802] is an obligate parasite of rodents of the genus Mus with a direct life cycle. It is a common parasite encountered in mice raised in pet shops and a nuisance in laboratory mouse colonies maintained at biomedical research facilities. Rats, hamsters, gerbils, and wild rodents have also been reported to harbor this parasite [4].
