Tremor may be observed in patients with peripheral nerve disorders. The occur-

rence of tremor in immune-mediated demyelinating and hereditary peripheral

neuropathies has been the most extensively documented, and a peripheral neuro-

pathy patient with tremor is most likely to have one of these disorders. Tremor

may also occur in certain forms of inherited motor neuron disease, such as

spinal muscular atrophy and X-linked bulbospinal atrophy. It remains unknown

why some peripheral neuropathy patients develop tremor while other similarly

affected patients do not. Genetic factors may play a role in some cases. This

chapter will review the most common tremor syndromes associated with

peripheral nerve disorders.
