ABSTRACT
When looking specifi cally at issues related to interaction with technology in diff erent regions, many relevant policy areas can be identifi ed. ey have a certain identity in terms of issues, values, social institutions, and legislative systems. In the following, the situation in Europe, Japan, and the United States is discussed, highlighting their characteristic features.
