ABSTRACT

Chapter 4 described E-commerce as the second generation of E-business and the electronic enabling of the transactions that comprise commerce between trading parties, whether these are businesses or consumers. Although E-commerce is just one step in the evolutionary journey, the strategy you employ at this level can have a major impact on your ability to maximize profits in striving for the ultimate goal of full E-business integration. This chapter discusses the different business models you might employ and the interdependencies among these models, your business processes and your information technology.
