The advent of ultrafast imaging techniques allowed a rapid increase in the use of MRI to image the fetus. Single Shot Fast Spin Echo (SSFSE) produces a slice every second, effectively freezing fetal motion and producing a heavily T2 weighted image (Fig. 1B) (3).
