ABSTRACT

Most experts in rhinosinusitis now subscribe to the concept that “chronic rhinosinusitis is a medical disease.” That is simply to underscore the importance of identifying and treating the underlying medical aspects of the disease. The first 18 chapters provide the reader with a foundation for this management. In this chapter, the published literature on medical management is briefly reviewed and a comprehensive medical evaluation and management program is outlined being mindful of the recent consensus definitions of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) (1).
