ABSTRACT
The jugular fossa is an area of complex anatomy. It is also an area of variant pathologies, each warranting special surgical considerations. Because lesions in this area involve the lower cranial nerves and major venous channels, each patient needs an individual approach that takes into account the location, size, and pathology of the lesion, as well as the patient’s general and neurological condition.
