ABSTRACT

I am going to briefl y cover the regulations that exist in today’s environment, but I warn you that regulations are constantly changing. To be honest, many companies still choose not to take them seriously. After September 11, 2001, my company began to receive many more requests from organizations that we did business with for information about our contingency plan. Despite all the regulations that have been introduced on this topic in a free-market economy, private business began to take real notice because their customers started to ask about them. More companies fi nd that external parties have demanded proof of their readiness, and more often than not it was not just a government or industry regulator that demanded the proof but their customers as well.
