ABSTRACT

Organophosphorus (OP) and carbamate (CB) pesticides are used in domestic and natural environments for control of a wide variety of insect pests and disease vectors, other invertebrates, fungi, birds, and mammals; some CBs are used as avian repellents, and others have herbicidal properties. These two pesticidal classes, numbering about 200 OPs and 50 CBs, have been formulated into thousands of products that are available in the world’s marketplace for varied applications to wetlands, rangelands, cultivated crops, forests, and rural and urban environs.
