ABSTRACT
I. Introduction HIV/AIDS is the modern world’s greatest pandemic, and HIV is also the most important risk factor for the development of tuberculosis (TB). This chapter describes recent and updated thinking on how control of TB needs to be adapted to assert and maintain control of TB in high-HIV-prevalence settings, even in the face of rising levels of anti-TB drug resistance in many regions.
