ABSTRACT
Effective application of statistical tools empowers the SHM engineer [1-4]. The availability of a wide variety of powerful statistical tools poses a challenge to the SHM engineer. How does one choose the best statistical tool for a particular application? There is often not a clear answer. This chapter describes common and potentially valuable SHM statistical methods, with an emphasis on higher-level tools that may be useful in interpretation and prediction.
