ABSTRACT
The intrachannel collision of optical solitons in the presence of perturbation terms is studied in this chapter by the aid of quasi-particle theory (QPT) that will be developed from basic principles. The nonlinearities that are studied in this chapter are the Kerr, power, parabolic, and dual-power laws. The perturbation terms that are considered in this chapter are both Hamiltonian and non-Hamiltonian type.
