ABSTRACT
Have you ever looked out your window on a clear, star-lit night and wondered: What is out there and how did it get there? I know that I did when I was a teenager. It was that intense curiosity about what was in the heavens and how it all began that caused me to become a scientist. If you have never experienced that clear, star-lit night, you have missed one of the most beautiful and profound aspects of nature. The darker your surroundings, the better, since it will allow you to see many more stars and experience the true beauty of the heavens.
