Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is a high-effi ciency analytical technique that separates compounds by applying high voltage across buffer-fi lled capillaries. The CE advantages with respect to other analytical techniques, such as very high resolution in short time of analysis, versatility, small volume of sample, and low cost, have made this technique adequate for the analysis of numerous compounds like biological macromolecules, chiral drugs, inorganic ionics, organic acids, DNA fragments, and even whole cells and virus particles [1-3].
