ABSTRACT

High-throughput screening (HTS) and ultra-high-throughput screening (uHTS) have evolved into industrialized processes that are fundamental to identifying novel starting points for the development of drugs and chemical probes. New technologies in robotics, liquid handling, sensitive detectors, material science, software, and information technology have driven continuous miniaturization and improvements in efciency, precision, and ultimately throughput. It is now possible to routinely screen several hundred thousand to a million samples.
