ABSTRACT
Environmental Applications Hyperspectral remote sensing can be used to study the state of our environ ment and track changes that occur over time. This technology has been particularly successful in monitoring bodies of water of all sizes from ponds to oceans and brooks to rivers. This chapter includes a description of the work conducted by researchers for two studies, one dealing with classifying the quality of the water in a lake and the other with mapping the location of submerged aquatic vegetation.
