ABSTRACT
The unique challenges that emergency managers face in setting protocols for lling internal capacity needs, communication, integrating the diverse demographics of their community, and addressing liability concerns are among the issues that this chapter will help to address. This chapter takes you through the steps of dening and designing the essential protocols for managing and communicating the dened roles and tasks that you would designate for SUCVs. These protocols will put processes in place
that are easily transferable from one situation to another and used by all levels of your team, from managers to volunteers.
