ABSTRACT
This chapter presents some theoretical criteria for the evaluation of dose finding methods, and discusses the properties of the CRM in light of these criteria. First, the concept of coherence is introduced in Section 5.2. The asymptotic property of the CRM is then discussed in Section 5.3, where we also demonstrate its relevance in finite sample settings. Finally, Section 5.4 sketches the proofs of the main results in this chapter.
