ABSTRACT
Laser bronchoscopists must be experts in diagnostic bronchoscopy techniques, become knowledgeable in laser physics and laser tissue interaction, and be comfortable dealing with patients with respiratory insuciency, acute hypoxemia, and airway bleeding. is chapter reviews laser physics, tissue interaction, and laser safety as it relates to bronchoscopic applications. It also addresses indications, contraindications, and techniques of laser bronchoscopy.
